Virtual Happy Hour Games
Happy hour….ahhhhh, one of our favorite times of the day, when we gather with our friends to chat, relax, and catch up over a tasty adult beverage and a little food. It’s fun every now and then, though, to play a game. In virtual happy hour games you can get to know your friends better, see how they think, what they think is funny. Here are a few of our favorites that are easy to play!
The List
- Would You Rather
- One person gives the group a choice between two things i.e. would you rather breathe fire or have swords as fingers? The others answer and give an explanation why they picked what they did. No equipment required except an imagination.
- Cards Against Humanity
- Yep, there’s an unofficial online version of this game. The game generates a card with fill-in-the-blank spaces for the judge of the round. The other players pick the best/funniest/most inappropriate choices from their cards to fill in the blank. The judge picks a winner from the other player’s cards. So on and so forth.
- Jackbox
- This one does require a subscription, but the games are so fun it’s worth it. With Trivia Murder Party, Dictionarium, and Joke Boat, there’s sure to be something to tickle everyone’s fancy.
- Charades
- Again, no equipment needed. One player acts something out while the others guess. Whoever guesses first gets to do the next charade.
- myQuiz
- Pub trivia has gone virtual! You’ll need to do some preplanning because you’ll have to write the questions and answers before you and your group meets for happy hour. There is not a chat room function in myQuiz, so people will need to log in to myQuiz to complete the quiz and also connect in a separate chat/video platform.
What are you playing?
We’re lucky in the Republic of Georgia that the government has lifted some quarantine restrictions, so we can actually have in-person happy hours. But, tbh, the virtual ones were so much fun, we don’t plan to give them up.
